Summary
This micro-lot from the Thirikwa Cooperative Society showcases the rich terroir of Mt. Kenya, Kenya. Grown in nutrient-dense volcanic soils at 1650 MASL, the coffee is hand-picked by over 1,500 smallholder farmers and processed at the Gakuyu-ini wet mill using a dry washed method. The coffee is depulped, dry fermented for 24 hours, channel washed, and dried on raised beds for 15 days. Varieties include SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11. Flavour notes feature Gala Apple, Brown Sugar, and Almond with a juicy profile. This coffee has a cup score of 86 and is suitable for both filter and espresso preparation.
