
Gatagua
Summary
Gatagua is a cooperative washing station in the Muranga region of Kenya, consisting of about 1000 members, a third of whom are women. The coffee is grown at 1600-1850 meters above sea level. The varieties are SL28 and Ruiru 11. The coffee is wet processed (washed) with hand sorting, fermentation in open tanks, and drying on raised beds for 2-3 weeks. Flavour notes include juicy, blackcurrant, and citrus. This is a single origin coffee from producer Gatagua, a relationship since 2020.
