El Laurel
Summary
El Laurel is a farm-selected micro-lot from producer Lastenia Cubas in the Cajamarca region of Peru near Jaen. Grown at 1930 meters above sea level, the farm cultivates Typica and Catimor varieties on a three-hectare plot. The coffee undergoes wet processing preceded by an average 20-hour dry fermentation, followed by washing and 10-20 days of drying under tent canopies depending on weather conditions. The sensory profile features notes of apple, lime, and caramel. The producer is supported by the Origin Coffee Lab organization through the Estrella Divina project.
