Kenya Red Kegwa Filter Single Origin
Summary
Kenya Red Kegwa is a washed filter coffee from Kirinyaga County, grown at around 1500 m and processed at the Kegwa washing station, which receives cherries from roughly 4,500 smallholder farms of the Ngiriambu Farmers' Cooperative Union. Cherries are sorted before pulping, fermented overnight, washed, classified by quality and dried on raised beds for 8 to 14 days. Varieties SL28, SL34 and R11 give a clear cup with red fruit, citrus tension and a balancing sweetness — hibiscus, blackcurrant and blood orange.
