Kirura / Kenya
Summary
A washed coffee from the Kirura Factory in Kiambu County, Kenya, operated by the Komothai Farmers Cooperative Society. Grown at 1800-1950 meters above sea level, this lot is produced by around 800 smallholder farmers cultivating SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties on volcanic soils. The fully washed process uses clean water from the Gatamaiyu River, with hand sorting, overnight fermentation, and slow drying on raised beds. The cup is clean and layered with notes of red currant, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, and black tea.
