Gicherori, Kenya
Summary
A washed Kenyan microlot from the Gicherori Factory, processed by the Kibugu Farmers Cooperative Society, which represents around 1050 smallholder farmers in the Embu region north of Nairobi. The lot is a blend of SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 and Batian varieties. Kenyan washed processing here includes same-day depulping, 24-48 hours of open-air tank fermentation, thorough washing in water channels, a 12-72 hour underwater soak, and drying on raised beds. Bright and juicy, with notes of gooseberry, pear juice and finger lime.
