Peru Cafe Del Futuro
Summary
This coffee comes from the Asociación Café del Futuro, a cooperative of 348 farmers founded in 2007 in the Jaén and San Ignacio provinces of Cajamarca, Peru. Grown at 1700 meters above sea level, the coffee is processed using the washed method. The varieties include Caturra, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Catimor. The association supports farmers by financing drying houses, allowing for gentle, rain-protected drying, which 95% of producers now use. The coffee offers tasting notes of red grape, mandarin, and caramel.
