Ratnagiri Estate, India
Summary
Single origin espresso from Ratnagiri Estate in the Western Ghats of South India, near Bababudangiri, one of the regions associated with the origins of coffee in India. The Patre family has farmed here since 1927, with Ashok Patre now leading the estate and pushing Indian coffee into more experimental territory. Hemavathi variety, processed as a yeast carbonic natural. In the cup, expect bright citrus notes of blackberry, orange marmalade and chinotto, backed by a silky texture, with more sweetness and roundness as it ages.
