Kii Ab Washed – Embu & Kirinyaga, Kenya
Summary
A classic washed Kenyan coffee from the Rung'eto Farmers Cooperative Society at Kii Factory, grown on smallholder farms across Embu and Kirinyaga on the slopes of Mount Kenya. The lot combines SL28, SL34, Batian and Ruiru 11 varieties, cultivated at 1,708 metres. After harvest, ripe cherries are selected, dry fermented for up to 36 hours, thoroughly washed and slowly dried on raised African beds for up to twenty days. The cup is clear, vibrant and composed, with lively notes of cranberry, redcurrant and tart rhubarb, supported by sparkling acidity, refined sweetness and a long, clean finish that evolves as the coffee cools.
