Rosebella - Kenya
Summary
Experimental microlot from Dr. Rosebella Langat's Chepsangor Hills Estate in Kenya's Nandi Hills, grown at 1,700-2,000 meters. Varieties SL28, Batian and Ruiru 11. Cherries were washed and then given a 48-hour controlled Saccharomyces yeast fermentation, developed with microbiologist Lucia Solis, before drying. The cup is clean and layered: cardamom baking spice up front, juicy blackberry in the middle, and a pineapple upside down cake finish. The estate also supports Chepsangor Women in Coffee, a group of over 100 women farmers.
