Peru: La Condesa
Summary
La Condesa is a washed community blend from Chirinos, Cajamarca, Peru, produced by a group of 20 women coffee producers in collaboration with Colibrí Andino. Grown between 1,600 and 2,000 m.a.s.l., the coffee combines Bourbon, Caturra, Catuaí, Pache and Marshell varieties. Ripe cherries are handpicked between July and October, pulped, fermented, washed and dried on patios, tarps or raised beds. In the cup it is well balanced with ripe pears, dried berries, caramel, nougat and brown sugar, gentle acidity, a creamy layered mouthfeel and a soft hazelnut finish.
