Ethiopia Hambela
Summary
From the Guji region of Ethiopia, this specialty coffee is sourced by the Hambela Wamena Washing Station from approximately 3,900 smallholder farmers. Grown at altitudes between 1,900 and 2,200 meters on volcanic soil, the coffee is processed using the dry (natural) method and consists of Heirloom varieties. The cup profile is deeply sweet, full-bodied, and richly fruity with notes of blueberry, papaya, apricot, strawberry, peach, red wine, and a floral finish. The coffee is cultivated without fertilizers or pesticides on small plots, often intercropped with other plants, and hand-picked before being carefully sorted at the washing station.
