Kenya Gathaithi Aa
Summary
A washed single-origin coffee from the Gathaithi Coffee Factory in Nyeri County, Kenya, grown at around 1,700–1,720 metres above sea level. The cooperative has about 1,656 smallholder members. Predominantly SL28 and SL34 varieties, with smaller amounts of Ruiru 11 and Batian. The traditional Kenyan washed process includes pulping, fermenting, washing, soaking, and drying on raised beds. The cup is structured and vivid with citrus rind brightness, prune-like fruit depth, and smooth toffee sweetness.
