Granja La Esperanza. Sudan Rume. Café De Colombia
Summary
This coffee comes from Café Granja La Esperanza, one of the most influential specialty coffee producers in Colombia, led by the Herrera family, especially Rigoberto and Luis Eduardo. Grown on the Las Margaritas farm in the Valle del Cauca region at altitudes between 1,570 and 1,850 meters, it features the rare Sudan Rume variety, originally from South Sudan, known for its unique aromatic character and high cup quality. The natural process involves drying whole cherries with the pulp, transferring sugars and aromatic compounds to the bean, resulting in an intense, fruity, and expressive profile with notes of red fruits, plum, spices, and eucalyptus. This lot is produced in very limited quantities, designed for competition or extremely high-quality profiles.
