Palmar, Боливия
Summary
This washed coffee from the Java variety comes from Marcial Huanca and his Finca Palmar in Caranavi, Bolivia. After depulping, fermentation and careful drying, the coffee reveals a clean and precise varietal character. The aroma offers honey-like sweetness, while the cup develops fine notes of white and yellow flowers, combined with a silky smooth body. Acidity is very delicate, and the finish is soft, balanced and elegant. Marcial Huanca is a small producer from the 25 de Abril community in Caranavi, a member of Cooperativa Mejillones, and holds a Q Grader certificate, having judged at Cup of Excellence and Cup of Fair Trade in Bolivia. Java is a variety with an interesting history, originating from Ethiopian landraces, passing through Indonesia and Cameroon before reaching Central and South America. It features elongated beans with bronze tips, good disease resistance and low cultivation requirements. In the cup, Java offers refined sweetness, delicate floral nuances and very soft acidity – a fine and elegant profile best revealed by precise washed processing.
