Busanze
Summary
This coffee comes from the Nyaruguru district of Rwanda, bordering Kayanza, Burundi. The Busanze mill serves an 81-member cooperative, including 51 female-owned farms. Farms grow the Red Bourbon variety. Processed as a 'minimal-intervention natural': hand picked, floated, hand sorted, and sun-dried over a short period. The cup offers red grape and apple acidity, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, star anise), sweetness like corn syrup or malted barley, baked apple, spiced raisin, strawberry, raspberry, and sweet malty black tea. At higher ratios, milk chocolate notes emerge. Light roast.
