Summary
A single-origin coffee from Finca Las Lajas in Poas, Central Valley, Costa Rica, produced by Oscar and Francisca Chacón. The Catigua variety is processed using the Black Pearl (Perla Negra) Natural method: coffee cherries are sun-dried for 10 days with continuous turning, then placed in closed sacks for about 3 days before further fermentation on raised beds. It scored 88 points. Flavour profile features yellow plum, mandarin, roasted almond, with intense sweetness of ripe cherries, medium citrus acidity, soft mouthfeel, and a lingering finish with notes of macadamia and sweet caramel.
