Indonesien Sumatra Mandheling Bio + Fairtrade
Summary
A strong and sweet Arabica from northern Sumatra with dense chocolate notes, perfect for espresso and cold brew. Grown by smallholder farmers in the Gayo highlands of Aceh at altitudes up to 1,800 meters on fertile volcanic soils. The coffee is hand-picked, pulped, briefly pre-dried, then wet-hulled (Giling Basah), a unique Indonesian method that gives it a typical blue-green color and intense flavor. Sourced from several cooperatives including PT. Sumatera Jaya Kopi, KOKOWAGAYO, and Kopi Wanita, a Fairtrade-certified women's cooperative. Flavor profile: roasted hazelnuts, musk, dried figs on the nose; nut, chocolate, raw cane sugar on the palate; dense and mellow finish.
