Kenia Karimikui Ab Top
Summary
Kenyan filter coffee from the Karimikui washing station in Kirinyaga County, on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya. The station has operated since 1966 and collects cherries from over 2,200 smallholders around Gituba and Kithure, growing on volcanic soils at 1,600-1,700 m. Varieties SL28, SL34 and Batian are fully washed, fermented, rinsed and dried on raised beds. In the cup it shows grapefruit, berries, rhubarb and black tea, with pronounced sweetness, high acidity and a clean, tea-like finish.
