Tanzania Itumpi
Summary
Tanzania Itumpi is a washed single origin coffee from the Songwe region of southern Tanzania, produced by the Itumpi AMCOS cooperative which brings together about 160 smallholder farmers. The coffee is grown at 1500-1700 meters above sea level and consists of Kent and Bourbon varieties. The processing involves selection, fermentation for 8-10 hours, washing, sorting in water channels, and drying on raised beds for 7-10 days. The sensory profile offers notes of black tea, peach, grapefruit, and almond, creating a light, fresh, and fruity cup.
