Caribbean Haitian Blue - Grade I
Summary
A rare single-origin coffee from Haiti, produced by the APCAB cooperative of 680 smallholder farmers. Grown at around 1,600 metres above sea level, the coffee cherries mature slowly, developing smooth, creamy and balanced flavours with a clean finish. Varieties include Blue Mountain, Bourbon and Typica, processed using the washed method and certified organic. The cooperative is paid roughly 300% above the Fair Trade minimum for its quality. Cup profile is nutty with mild floral acidity, notes of almonds and cream, a thick clean body and high sweetness.
