Uganda - Valle De Kigezi - Honey
Summary
Single-origin Ugandan coffee from the Kigezi Valley highlands in the southwest of the country, grown by over 300 smallholder farmers within the Mountain Harvest network, with Nasser Mutesasira managing the station. The coffee is Coffea arabica of the Nyasaland variety, cultivated at 2,000–2,200 m.a.s.l. and processed using the honey method: ripe red cherries are pulped and dried on raised beds to 11% moisture before transfer to a temperature-controlled warehouse. In the cup it shows lemon, lemongrass and white tea, with floral and sweet aromas of pumpkin sweetness and melon, medium body, medium sweetness, medium to high acidity and medium intensity.
