Pottschwarz

Pottschwarz is a specialty coffee roaster based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany — deep in the Ruhrpott, or "the Pott" as locals call it. They split their roster into three roast profiles: Espresso, Omni, and Filter, each highlighting single origins from places like El Salvador, Brazil, Myanmar, and Colombia. Bags run €13–€17, fair play for serious beans. They run two cafes around the region — one in Mülheim Saarn, another in Essen — plus their roastery and a barista academy for anyone wanting to dial in their technique. Philosophy is refreshingly direct: quality beans, fair pay for growers, and sustainability treated as responsibility, not a label.
