Orang Utan
Summary
This coffee comes from smallholder farmers in Sumatra, Indonesia, who cultivate their coffee gardens in an environmentally friendly manner, preserving the rainforest and protecting the habitat of the Sumatran orangutan. The Arabica coffee develops notes of pecan nut and brown sugar, attributed to the humid climate and constant fog of Sumatra's rainforests. A premium of €0.50 per kg of green coffee goes to the farmers, and another €0.50 supports the Sumatra Orangutan Protection Programme. The project was founded in 2013 by Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei, Orang-Utan Regenwald GmbH, and PanEco Foundation.
