Summary
This single origin coffee comes from the island of Idjwi in Lake Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, grown at altitudes up to 2,000m. Produced by the women's cooperative 'Rebuild Women's Hope,' founded by Marcelline Budza in 2013, the coffee is directly traded and organic certified. The washed processing involves washing, fermentation, and drying at four processing stations. In the cup, the coffee presents notes of jasmine blossom, sage, honey, lychee, cola, and vanilla, with additional notes of green tea, lavender, leafy greens, dill, and sweet cherry.
