Summer Coffee 2026
Summary
This coffee comes from Rioki Estate in Kiambu County, Kenya, grown at 1500–1800 meters above sea level on rich red volcanic soil. The estate, established in 1970, spans 190 hectares and is managed by Coffee Management Services Ltd. Varieties include Batian, SL-34, SL-28, and Ruiru 11. Cherries are hand-picked, pulped, fermented for 16–24 hours, washed with clean water, and dried on raised beds for 7–14 days to 10–11% moisture. It offers a smooth and elegant mouthfeel, medium-light body, and a long tangy finish with notes of rhubarb, wild strawberry, and brown sugar. Suitable for filter coffee, hand brewing, and cold brew.
