Nyeri, Кения
Summary
This washed coffee comes from Nyeri Hill Estate AB in Nyeri County, Kenya, where varieties SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 are grown. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are depulped, fermented, washed, and dried on raised African beds. The cup reveals elegant floral aromas followed by juicy notes of blackcurrant and red currant, underscored by syrupy sweetness. Bright, juicy acidity adds freshness and lingers long in the aftertaste. Nyeri Hill Estate is located on the slopes of Mount Kenya and is one of the oldest coffee plantations in East Africa, founded in 1914. The coffee is grown at altitudes between 1800 and 2200 meters in rich volcanic red soils. The lot combines four iconic Kenyan varieties, creating a typical Kenyan flavor profile with juicy acidity, intense fruit notes, and multi-layered complexity.
