Summary

Kenya Gatubu is a single-origin coffee from Muranga County in Kenya's Central Highlands, produced by the Iyego Coffee Cooperative Society. Around 600 local farmers cultivate Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28, and SL34 varieties at altitudes between 1550 and 1750 metres above sea level. The coffee is fully washed using a traditional wet process: cherries are pulped, fermented for 12-48 hours, washed, and slowly dried on raised African beds for 2-3 weeks. The cup profile offers flavours of lime, blackcurrant, and melon. Roasted light to medium and suitable for both filter and espresso brewing methods.
