Nicaragua Kilambé
Summary
Organic coffee from Kilambé national park in northern Nicaragua, grown by Austrian producer Ulrich Salamun with his wife Sabine and neighbouring farmers since 2003. Shade-grown at 1200-1750 m among old cloud forest, with only a fraction of the 300 hectares planted to coffee. Varieties Caturra, Red Catuai, Typica and Catimor are hand-picked and washed. The cup is velvety and rounded: juicy apricot meets jammy blueberry, caramel brings warm sweetness, resting on a smooth vanilla note.
