Minas Gerais Yellow Catucai [score: 92.3]
Summary
This Yellow Catucai comes from Fazenda Boa Vista, a farm on the slopes of the Serra da Mantiqueira that's been growing coffee since the 1880s. It scored 92.3 and took top honors at the COCARIVE Specialty Coffee Competition. The farm has stayed in the same family for generations and is now run by three brothers, Lívio César, Marcelo, and Flávio Carvalho Ferraz, who've spent years refining how they grow and process the coffee. Flávio has his own strong run at competition too, placing first in his region at the 2025 Minas Gerais state quality contest. COCARIVE, the cooperative Fazenda Boa Vista sells through, is based in Carmo de Minas and has built a reputation for producing some of Brazil's best specialty lots, with every member farm certified by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association.
