Kuma Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster based in Seattle, Washington, roasting since 2008. It started as one guy, Peter Mark, roasting in his garage—strictly about how delicious the coffee inside the bag tasted, not the packaging. Today it's still a tiny team, but they put out over 100,000 pounds of high-scoring coffee a year. They direct source, pay well above Fair Trade premiums, and only buy in-season lots, because coffee is a fruit and tastes best at its peak. Their single origins come with fun, ripe tasting notes like Rainier cherries, boysenberry, and chocolate milkshake. Beans are roasted and shipped within 24 hours.
