Summary
This coffee is grown by Jim and Edna Chestnut on a small farm near Volcano Village in the Puna district of Hawaii's Big Island, atop Kilauea volcano at approximately 3000 feet elevation. The lot consists of Typica and Caturra varieties. Processed using anaerobic washed (yeast fermentation) method. Tasting notes include raspberry, cherry, molasses, winey character, with hints of orange, lavender, and chocolate in the finish. The 2020 harvest received 96 points from Coffee Review. The farm placed 1st in the Hawaii Coffee Association statewide cupping competition, Hawaii District, in 2016.
