Uganda Bugisu (filter)
Summary
Uganda Bugisu is a dark roast coffee from the Bagisu people's lands in the Bugisu region along the volcanic slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda. Grown at altitudes between 1250 and 1900 meters, the Typica, SL-14, and SL-28 varieties thrive in volcanic soil. The cup opens with sweet dates and orange, chocolate, and hazelnut notes, leading to a large, soft nuttiness reminiscent of Brazil nuts, with rich dark chocolate carrying the full body. The finish offers a subtle balsamic cedar nuance, leaving a long, soft, sweet aftertaste.
