Uganda Bugisu
Summary
Uganda Bugisu is a dark roast coffee from the Bugisu region on the slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda. Grown on volcanic soils at altitudes between 1250 and 1900 meters, it features Typica, SL-14, and SL-28 varieties. The cup offers sweet dates and orange, with a trio of citrus, chocolate, and hazelnut in the aroma. The flavor is dominated by a large, soft nuttiness reminiscent of Brazil nuts, with rich dark chocolate providing a full body. The finish has a subtle balsamic cedar note that adds warmth and depth. The mouthfeel is big and embracing, with a long, soft, sweet aftertaste.
