Coffee By Design has been a fixture of Portland, Maine since 1994, when Mary Allen Lindemann started it on a struggling Congress Street as a 'community coffee company.' Three decades on, that inclusive, buzzy-hub spirit still defines it — a coffeehouse and roastery where everyone's welcome, backed by direct farm partnerships and a Rebel Blend Fund that supports local artists.
