Summary
Hugo Ruiz's coffee is sourced from his small farm near Concepción Huista in the Huehuetenango highlands of western Guatemala. Hugo is a member of the CODECH cooperative, which has been partnered with Counter Culture Coffee since 2010. This lot was identified as one of the best of the harvest through cooperative cupping. The coffee is washed, certified organic and kosher, and grown at 1,800m elevation. Varieties grown include Caturra, Bourbon, and Pache Verde. The flavor profile features cocoa, nougat, and pear-like sweetness.
